Mechanical Condition Unknown

The term mechanical condition unknown and its abbreviation MCU, are used by movers during the inventory process to acknowledge that it is impossible to verify that the item is in perfect working condition. This inventory entry limits the mover’s liability for electrical or mechanical shipment items. The mover will not accept a claim for improper operation of the item after the move unless there is obvious physical damage to the item or evidence of gross mishandling.
