A triwall carton is a special corrugated carton with 7 layers overall; 3 layers of corrugated cardboard and 4 layers of kraft paper. The nominal thickness of corrugated triwall in about ½ of an inch. Triwall has the effective strength equivalent to a ¼ inch sheet of plywood but with only about 1/3 of the weight. Triwall containers are used to ship some smaller shipments using Arpin’s Priority Relocation Service. Triwalls offer several key advantages in that they offer a cleaner, smooth interior, they are less expensive, recyclable, and have a demountable design. On the negative side, they are more susceptible to water damage and puncture.
