What is a Tag (Inventory Tag) on an interstate move?

An inventory tag is an adhesive tag about the size of a postage stamp that is used to identify each item of an interstate shipment. Tags come on rolls; with each roll having 500 tags numbered 1 through 500. In addition to the number on the tag, it also has a LOT number which is a unique serial number for that roll of stickers. Each item in the shipment will receive a tag or number. That number will be listed on the HHG inventory which identifies the items and lists its condition.
