A moving broker is a sales organization that solicits customers who are moving, solicits movers to handle these moves, and takes a portion of the bill as compensation. Moving brokers are basically middle-men who don’t own trucks and only deal with the sales end of the transaction. From a consumer’s perspective, the commission paid to the broker is unproductive since the broker isn’t performing the service and is not taking any of the risks. The term moving broker and moving scam have become synonymous. Arpin of RI does not associate with brokers. We handle all of our moves in house. If we need to utilize additional services form other companies, we only use companies that we have signed agreements with and we maintain control of their activities.
