Diversion

A diversion is a route change to a shipment’s destination after a moving truck is already in route. The diversion may be an additional, or extra stop, or a secondary handling of the shipment called or shuttle if the truck cannot access the residence. There are additional charges for each type of diversion. When the destination delivery is changed, the new charges are calculated on the longer of the two distances; the original or the new delivery. Extra stops are charged by a flat rate depending on your geographical location. A shuttle charge is based on a CWT or hundred weight rate based on the geographical location where the service is performed.
