The billing weight is the shipment weight on which all of the interstate charges are based. Arpin RI may use several different billing weights depending on the type of estimate. This can be quite confusing so here is a quick overview.
- If the estimate is non-binding, the billing weight is the actual net weight of the shipment.
- If the shipment is binding, the billing weight is the estimated weight.
- If the shipment is a not-to -exceed binding, the billing weight is the estimated weight or the actual net weight; whichever is less.
