When purchasing valuation, the customer will be charged a dollar premium based on the maximum or assessed value designated by the customer. The customer can designate an assessed value of the shipment ranging from a minimum of $7.50 per pound, all the way up to $1,000,000. Arpin RI will round up the assessed value to the next largest $10,000 increment. Keep in mind that this assessed value must apply to the entire shipment as a whole, not just a single item or a sub-set of items. The salesperson for Arpin RI will discuss the specific of the valuation policy before the shipment is loaded. While the customer may have already indicated an assessed value on the order for service, the customer will actually make the official designation of assessed value when they write that amount on the Bill of Lading in the presence of the Arpin RI driver on the day the shipment is loaded.
