Auxiliary Service or shuttle service

An auxiliary service or shuttle is used when a shipment cannot be picked up by the assigned over-the-road transporting truck. The over-the-road tractor trailers used by Arpin RI are over 70’ long and many origin loading locations cannot be accessed. The reasons for this are typically due to road size, weight limits, height limits, weather, or local laws. In these situations, the shipment will be loaded in increments onto a smaller truck (U-Haul or Ryder) and brought to the over the road truck for transfer. The charge for this truck-to-truck transfer is based on the overall weight of the shipment, or in the case of a partial shuttle, based on just the weight of the items being shuttled. Keep in mind that Arpin of RI will never charge for shuttles at destination.
