Minimum weight is the lowest weight that a customer can book a shipment. This means that if a customer has a tiny shipment, it will move at the minimum weight, not the actual weight. The minimum weight usually raises in the peak season and lowers in the off season. Typically, the minimum weight is 1,400 lbs. in the off-peak season, and 2,100 lbs. during the peak. For example, a customer is just shipping a grand piano to their son in California. The piano weighs 700 lbs., but the billing will be done at 2,100 lbs.
