A COD or cash on delivery move is a move where the owner of the household goods is paying the moving company for the services provided. (As opposed to a Military move, GSA move, or a national account move where the moving costs are being paid by an employer). Each type of COD move has unique payment rules.
- For interstate COD shipments, Federal law requires that the customer must pay the charges in full before the shipment is unloaded at destination. Arpin RI will accept cash, cashier’s/bank checks, or credit cards (alone or in combination) as payment for interstate shipments. Personal checks will not be accepted for interstate shipments.
- For local COD shipments, payment is due when the services are completed. Arpin RI will accept cash, cashier’s/bank checks, credit cards, or personal checks (alone or in combination) as payment for local shipments.
- For international COD shipments, payment is due in full before the shipment leaves Arpin RI’s warehouse. Arpin RI will accept cash, cashier’s/bank checks, or credit cards (alone or in combination) as payment for interstate shipments.
- For monthly storage charges, payment is due monthly as invoiced. Arpin RI will accept cash, cashier’s/bank checks, or credit cards (alone or in combination) as payment for monthly storage.
For storage delivery shipments, payments for all storage charges are due in full before the shipment leaves Arpin RI’s warehouse. Arpin RI will accept cash, cashier’s/bank checks, or credit cards (alone or in combination) as payment for storage shipments. The charges for a local storage delivery are handled like a local move and the charges for an interstate storage delivery are handled like an interstate move.
