A warehouse receipt is a legal document similar to a deed which confers ownership of the stored items to whomever possesses the receipt. Arpin of RI uses the first page of the inventory as its warehouse receipt. All of the terms and conditions outlined by the State of RI at state for the proper handling and transfer of the stored items are listed on the reverse side. The warehouse will only transfer or deliver stored items to the person or persons listed on the warehouse receipt. In some circumstances, the warehouse receipt can also be used as collateral.
