Linehaul Charge

The linehaul is the basic fee for interstate moves. The linehaul is dependent on the actual mileage traveled by the moving truck and the weight of your shipment. The base linehaul charge is defined in units of dollars per 100 pounds of shipment weight or CWT. The actual calculation of the linehaul it to take the product of the CWT and multiply it by the shipment weight in 100 lb. increments. The heavier the shipment and the further that it has to move, the higher the total cost. Traditionally, the CWT charge was obtained using a matrix with weight on one axis and move distance on the other. Today, all of these factors are preloaded into move estimating software. Arpin of RI uses MoveHQ estimating software to provide our customers with hyper-accurate linehaul calculations and estimates.
