Waiting time is a service where the customer pays a preset hourly tariff rate to the carrier to temporarily delay the delivery of the shipment. There is a charge for the vehicle and manpower for each hour delayed. Typically, the delay is due to mis-timing of the closing or some other short-term issue. Customers may request waiting time when they are unable to accept their shipment within 2 hours after notification of arrival at destination. Customers may choose to order waiting time rather than enduring the alternative process (and expenses) or placing the shipment into storge in transit. Keep in mind that the carrier is not obligated to provide waiting time, but we will do so when the truck is able to remain idle and the resulting delay does not conflict with other customer’s schedules.
