The preferred date or Pad date is the day that the customer has identified as the most favorable delivery for them. Every interstate move has multiple possible delivery dates based on the distance the shipment is moving and its size. These potential delivery dates are called the delivery spread. The carrier must deliver by the last day of the spread, or the required delivery date or RDD. The date the customer should inform the carrier of the best delivery date for them within this range based on their own unique situation. For example, many customers are going door-to-door very quickly and would prefer a PAD date near the beginning of the spread while other customers may need time to look for a new place and would prefer a delivery very late in the spread. Arpin of RI is unique among movers in that we make meeting the customer’s Pad date our priority while most other movers only consider the required delivery date.
