A log book is a Federally mandated daily record of the activities of the driver whilst on a trip. Arpin of RI drivers all use electronic logs rather than paper logs books. The E-logs are created by a GPS satellite unit installed in their truck in conjunction with a mobile app on their phone. The E-log records the driver’s work status; whether the driver is on duty but not driving, off duty, sleeping, or driving, and if they are driving, how many miles they have driven in each state. The E-log allows Arpin of RI management to know where the vehicle is located and what it is doing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
