The destination agent is the agent who is responsible for coordinating the delivery. There are four “agents” on every interstate move; the booking agent who initiates the shipment, the origin agent who packs and loads the shipment, the hauling agent who transports the shipment, and the destination agent who delivers the shipment. The same company or entity can be one, two, three or all four agents. Typically, the destination agent is the agent who delivers a shipment after it has been placed into storge in transit or SIT at destination. The destination agent may also adjudicate claims, pick up debris, or provide other moving services for the customer.
