Can or Overseas Container

A can is slang for a large corrugated metal container for holding lift vans or loose loaded goods for overseas transport on cargo ships. Cans come in various lengths; 20’ 40’ and 48’. These cans are loaded onto a truck chassis at the port (NY/NJ) and transported to Arpin RI for loading. Once loaded, they are picked up from Arpin RI’s large warehouse and taken back to NY or trucked/railed to the West coast depending on the eventual destination.
